Courageous Day 3 - Courage to let go

Devotions, reflections and prayers

Letting go in general is so hard. Why? Well because when we let go of something we are kind of in a way admitting that we are not in control of the situation anymore. We admit that it is something that is out of our hands. To some it may seem as failure but in actual fact, letting go, especially if you are letting go and placing it in the hands of God, is actually winning.

Even though by placing everything in the hands of God we are winning, the fact and reality of the matter is, letting go surely does hurt sometimes. For those that feel deeply it can be so hard for the heart to let go of someone you loved, a dream you desired, something you wanted so much.

Would you be courageous enough to let go of the way you thought things would be and embrace what God has in store? Sometimes we can get so engulfed with the way we thought things would be, that we don;t recognise and see the things that God is actually doing in our lives.

In the Bible, Jesus was in the world but the world did not accept Him because He did not look like the Saviour, King and Messiah that they had envisioned.

Way too often we don’t see things because we don’t want to let go of our own ideals. We don’t want to surrender. We’re afraid of what it could look like because it’s something that we don’t have the control over but what if you were brave enough, bold enough, courageous enough to just try. To trust Him, to surrender that thing, to let it go…
