The Beauty of Hindsight part 2... Lessons Learnt...

Love and Relationships

Shana’s back with Part 2 of her story. If you haven’t read part 1,  or would like a recap then please do and then sit back, relax and enjoy part 2…

There really is beauty as well as blessings in hindsight.. As I said before when I first spoke to you about my story, it wasn’t something that I could do straight away and now with even a longer time to have passed since the “no show at Costa” date, there’s still so much that I can share. There is so much that I have learnt, so here I am sharing with you three of the beautiful lessons I have learnt over the past 2 years…

God’s grace is so amazing…

God’s grace has really sustained me throughout this whole period. His love and mercy I can see just shine through even when I’m having the darkest of days. I know His grace is real and healing because I think to myself how can I have been rejected, dejected, disappointed and broken and still come out of the other side without bitterness, without malice, without unforgiveness? For me, this can only be explained by God’s grace because on my own I don’t think I would have been able to do it.

Our pain can help others…

It still hurts sometimes, I won’t lie, it still stings but not as much. One of the things that I have found to be so true as of late is that sometimes what we go through, the hardships we may experience, the pain we may endure, may not necessarily be for ourselves… Sometimes our testimonies of how we got through is what will bring someone else up out from the pits of despair.

Sometimes all it takes is for someone to hear that you were despondent, in despair, discouraged and defeated but through the grace, mercy and love of the Lord you were able to find yourself, get back on your feet, renew your faith and pursue onwards, upwards and forward in your life.

Don’t forget to ask God about the little things too…

Although yes, I felt the peace of the Lord regarding the sitaution I was in, it didn’t necessarily mean that I should go full steam ahead, pouring out my heart and neglecting my head in the process. Even if God says yes to something, don’t forget to include Him in the every day decisions that need to be made. You may have the green light from the Lord regarding the bigger picture, the dream, the vision, but have you actually asked God about the details and the first steps to take?

When we fail to ask God about the first steps, we can find ourselves on a detour and even though in the end everything will be fine as God has already ordained for good things to happen, you would have ended up taking a route that you needn’t have taken in the first place.

I don’t know about you, but I am so not in the business of taking unneccesary routes when there’s an easier one, so Lord I am asking you, please help me to remember to ask you about everythinggg lol.

I’ll be back soon, but in the meantime I hope the lessons I’ve learnt will help you too.

Lots of love…
