In line with post one on The Nature of the Heart, the book “Matters of the Heart” by Juanita Bynum is something that can be read to provide more enlightenment around the topic surrounding the fallibility of the human heart and the infallibility of the Holy Spirit.
Juanita begins by sharing why this topic became of interest to her. I won’t go into too much detail so as to not spoil it for you, but let’s just say Juanita became more interested in doing things for show and people pleasing rather than as an act of true worship to the Lord.
I haven’t completely finished reading the book yet, but so far I have to say that it’s such a great read. I haven’t read much of Juanita’s work before, so I can’t compare this book to others that she may have written, but one thing I do know was that I was most certainly feeling convicted whilst I was reading this on my commute lol.
Books like these I feel need to be digested and I guess that’s why I haven’t finished it yet, as it’s not just something you can read to fill in time but something you need to really take in. I also, when reading it at home, like to open up to the verses she references just to get more of an understanding from the Word itself.
If you read it or if you have read it, leave your comments and let me know how you found it! If you have any book recommendations for me too, leave them in the comments below and I’ll be sure to check them out!
